Piano Accompaniment

Piano Accompaniment

The Art of Blending with an Instrumentalist or Singer

In this course, the pianist learns to accompany an instrumentalist or singer, to follow them in their tempo changes, in each of their breaths, accelerations, and rubatos, until they blend seamlessly. They learn to support their partner through various techniques and skills developed during this course. This way, they can provide their partner with the freedom and confidence necessary for optimal technical and expressive interpretation.

Since the piano score also includes the line of the singer or instrumentalist, the pianist knows exactly what the latter should do and can thus advise and guide them towards the truest and most expressive interpretation possible.

The accompaniment course prepares the student to become a coach and rehearsal pianist for singers. It is intended for pianists who already have a good instrumental level.
